Corail Tombstone-Addon
If you have ever died in a sprawling modpack and watched your hotbar come back shuffled, or grumbled as Tombstone rolled a useless potion effect on resurrection, the Corail Tombstone-Addon is built for exactly that frustration. Formerly a module inside SRP&Wizardry InsaneTweaks, it now stands alone, adding no items and no blocks, just two perks and a pile of behaviour gated independently in config/tombtweaks.cfg. That means you can run it without any of the original content mod.
What the Add-On Actually Changes
A Real Whitelist for Rolled Effects
Tombstone rolls random potion effects from the entire registry, which in a large pack means hundreds of effects from dozens of mods. Its own config only offers blacklists, and blacklisting an effect there also stops it being preserved on death. The Corail Tombstone-Addon adds a genuine whitelist that touches only the rolling paths, with two pools, beneficial and harmful, plus an optional pool for the Magic Scroll. Entries are written as modid:effect[;weight][;maxAmplifier], so you can make an effect rarer or cap how strong it rolls. Unknown ids are logged and skipped, never a crash. Off by default.
Your Grave Gives Your Inventory Back the Way It Was
Tombstone repacks a recovered grave from the first free slot, so your hotbar comes back shuffled. This feature records where each item actually was when you died and puts it back: hotbar, main inventory, armour, offhand and Baubles. It is deliberately conservative, placing an item only if the destination slot is empty, so anything you picked up since dying keeps its slot. On by default, and older graves without a recorded layout are recovered normally.
Per-Perk Caps and Two Custom Perks
Every one of Tombstone's ten native perks gets an Enabled switch, a Max Level cap, a point cost per level, and, for seven of them, a value per level. Every default matches Tombstone's own number, so an untouched config changes nothing. Be careful: Tombstone strips a disabled perk from a player's map and refunds the points, so switching a perk off mid-world erases what players invested. Decide before your players buy in.
Two custom perks join the Knowledge of Death tree. Assimilated Knowledge gives killing a high-tier Scape and Run: Parasites mob a chance to grant knowledge, five levels at 7% each across 26 parasite families. Relief for the Damned softens the third penalty of Enigmatic Legacy's Ring of the Seven Curses and requires Enigmatic Legacy 2.7.0.
Boss Rewards, Soulbinding, and Raid Alignment
Tombstone pays knowledge only for advancements and loot, so clearing a boss was worth nothing to the Knowledge of Death tree. Out of the box this pays for exactly two enemies, once per player each: the Skeleton King from Fish's Undead Rising, worth 2 perk points, and Mutant Beasts' Mutant Zombie, worth 1. The list is config, written modid:entity;perkPoints, and is meant to stay short, since perk points are the whole progression currency and the tree is roughly thirty points end to end.
There is also a soulbinding trick. With an Ankh of Prayer in the main hand, a wand in the off hand, and a decorative grave holding a soul, the soul is spent and the wand gains Ancient Spellcraft's soulbound upgrade through Wizardry's normal upgrade path, respecting the wand tier's upgrade limit. Tombstone's three existing Ankh behaviours are untouched.
Alignment for raid mods rounds things out. Tombstone only recognises a zombie from its own village siege, so if your pack uses a different raid system, killing actual raiders pays no alignment and never completes the raider advancement. This pays out through Tombstone's own API, worth exactly what a native siege raider is worth, matched by exact registry name. The default list covers Raids Backport's pillager and ravager plus the three vanilla illagers. Witches are left out on purpose, since they spawn worldwide.
Smaller Tweaks Worth Knowing
- Ritual book cooldowns: the Books of Disenchantment and Magic Impregnation get a six-minute cooldown on decorative graves, shown on the item and surviving a relog.
- Grave item decay: optional, with a backup and an operator restore command, /tombtweaks restore decay <player>. Off by default.
- Curse of Possession fix: So Many Enchantments' curse should make an item vanish on death, but with Tombstone installed it gets trapped in the grave. Same backup-and-restore net. Off by default.
- The Knowledge of Death tree gets a tab on Reskillable's inventory strip, the Enchanted Grave Key recipe can be removed, and grave dust drop rate can be nerfed.
For anyone who wants to download Corail Tombstone-Addon without wrestling with manual file placement, the foxygame.net launcher bundles this add-on in its catalog and handles version compatibility automatically, so the right build lands next to your Tombstone jar without guesswork.
How to Install and What It Requires
The Corail Tombstone-Addon for Minecraft targets Minecraft 1.12.2 with Forge, and needs MixinBooter or Cleanroom. Corail Tombstone 4.7.6 is required. Optional integrations each gate their own feature: Enigmatic Legacy 2.7.0, Electroblob's Wizardry plus Ancient Spellcraft, Scape and Run: Parasites, So Many Enchantments, Raids Backport, BaublesEX, and Reskillable. Companion mods such as SRP&Wizardry InsaneTweaks, SRP&Wiz Core, SRP&WIZ Mixins, and Reskill Tweaks are all optional and independent.
To learn how to install, drop the jar into your mods folder alongside Tombstone and MixinBooter, then launch once to generate config/tombtweaks.cfg. If you are migrating from Insane Tweaks 1.8.0 or earlier, install this mod at the same time you update Insane Tweaks to 1.9.0 or later, not afterwards, because the two custom perks keep their original registry names and Tombstone stores perk levels by registry name in level.dat. Skipping that step discards invested levels for good. Then copy your settings across by hand, since a fresh tombtweaks.cfg ships with master switches off and does not read your old insanetweaks.cfg.
Final Thoughts
The Corail Tombstone-Addon is not a flashy content mod. It is a precision tool for pack authors and players who care about grave recovery, perk economy, and modpack integration. If your world leans on Tombstone and a dozen other mods, this add-on quietly removes the rough edges that make death feel unfair.
