Collector Advancement: Track Every Item in Your Survival World

Collector Advancement adds 32 collection challenges to Minecraft, tracking every item, block, and tropical fish. Perfect for survival completionists!

Collector Advancement

Every Minecraft world eventually reaches the same crossroads. You have beaten the Ender Dragon, built a beacon, and filled a few double chests with diamonds. Then what? For players who need a reason to keep exploring, Collector Advancement turns the entire game into one massive checklist. This data pack adds a dedicated Collector tab to your Advancements menu, challenging you to gather everything the world has to offer.

If you have ever wondered how close you are to a truly complete survival file, this is the add-on that answers the question. It is built for completionists, collectors, and hardcore survival fans who want a long-term goal that never runs out of steam.

What Collector Advancement Tracks

The scope here is enormous. Instead of a handful of achievements, you get 32 comprehensive collection advancements spread across dozens of sub-categories. The main collections break down like this:

  • All Items: 1,534 obtainable survival items, from dirt to netherite scrap.
  • All Blocks: 1,109 placeable blocks, crops, and flora.
  • Smithing Templates: 19 total, covering all 18 armor trims plus the netherite upgrade.
  • Tropical Fish: 3,072 unique variants, combining 12 shapes, 16 body colors, and 16 pattern colors.

On top of those headline goals, there are 28 smaller tabs for themed collections. Music discs, pottery sherds, mob heads, dyes, banner patterns, ores, tools, armor, boats, and every color variant of wool, concrete, glass, candles, beds, and shulker boxes all get their own tracking.

How Collection Progress Works

The tracking system is cumulative and permanent per player. You do not need to build a giant storage hall or keep every item in one place. Once an item enters your inventory, it is checked off forever. That single design choice makes the challenge far more approachable than it sounds.

A few mechanics are worth knowing before you start:

  • Tropical fish must be caught alive using a water bucket in survival mode.
  • Items sitting inside shulker boxes or ender chests are not scanned until you move them into your main inventory.
  • The pack is event-driven and does not run a laggy 20 ticks-per-second loop, so progress updates happen only when relevant inventory or capture events fire.

Fair Survival Filtering

To keep the challenge legitimate, 124 unobtainable and creative-only items are filtered out. Bedrock, barriers, command blocks, spawners, vaults, light blocks, spawn eggs, and reinforced deepslate are all excluded. Meanwhile, rare but genuinely obtainable treasures stay in, including the dragon egg, deepslate emerald and coal ore, mob heads, and tall grass.

Supported Versions and Installation

Collector Advancement targets Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 and works as a pure data pack. No resource pack or client-side mod is required, which means vanilla players and server owners can use it without asking anyone to change their setup.

For singleplayer, the process is short. Download Collector Advancement as a zip file, drop it directly into your world's datapacks folder without unzipping it, then open the world or run /reload if you are already in-game. Press L to open your Advancements menu and you will see the new Collector tab waiting for you.

On a multiplayer server, place the same zip file into world/datapacks, then run /reload or restart the server. Progress is saved safely in the world's advancements folder using each player's UUID, so nothing is lost between sessions. Server admins who want to wipe a player's progress can run /advancement revoke with the collector:root target.

If you would rather skip manual folder management, the foxygame.net launcher handles the setup for you, letting you install Collector Advancement with a single click and keeping it updated automatically as new Minecraft versions arrive. Its built-in add-on catalog also flags version compatibility before you commit, which saves a lot of guesswork.

Why It Belongs in Your World

Most data packs add content. Collector Advancement adds purpose. It gives long-running survival worlds a finish line that genuinely takes hundreds of hours to reach, and it does so without touching world generation, mob behavior, or vanilla balance. Whether you are chasing the last few tropical fish variants or slowly filling the smithing template tab, there is always one more entry left to find.

If you are ready to turn your survival world into a true museum of everything Minecraft offers, download Collector Advancement for Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 and start checking boxes. Just be warned: the tropical fish alone may keep you busy for a very long time.
