Cobblemon: PokeRider – Turn Your Pokemon Into Fully Interactive Mounts
Cobblemon already lets you battle, breed, and befriend hundreds of creatures, but actually riding them has always felt like a missing piece. Cobblemon: PokeRider fills that gap. This add-on transforms your party into genuine mounts, complete with physics-based flight, underwater diving, mid-air pickups, and per-species seating that looks like it belongs in an official game. If you have ever wanted to soar over a savanna on the back of your favorite flying type, this is the mod that makes it happen.
What Cobblemon: PokeRider Adds to the Game
At its core, Cobblemon: PokeRider for Minecraft attaches the player directly to configurable bones on each Pokemon's 3D model. That means no more awkward floating above a creature's head. Instead, you sit exactly where a rider should sit, whether that is on the shoulders of a bipedal fighter or nestled between the wings of a soaring bird. More than 35 species ship with pre-configured seating out of the box, and adding new ones is straightforward.
Realistic Mounting and Speed That Matters
Your Pokemon's stats are not just for battles anymore. Speed and stamina now directly influence how fast your mount moves. A level 1 Pokemon with zero speed will crawl along at a painfully slow pace, while a well-trained speedster will leave everything in the dust. Mounting is also automatic on jump, so you can leap and land straight into the saddle without fumbling through menus.
Physics-Based Flight
Flight in Cobblemon: PokeRider feels genuinely dynamic. You get smooth pitch and roll controls, responsive acceleration, and the freedom to pull off barrel rolls while dodging obstacles. Wing trails are generated from the actual wing tips of the model, which makes every aerial maneuver look convincing. Take off with a tap of the space bar and land by holding shift.
Surfing and Diving in Full 3D
Aquatic Pokemon are no longer one-trick ponies. You can glide across the water's surface or dive straight down and swim freely beneath the ocean in full 3D. There is no drowning while mounted, and underwater visibility is improved so you can actually enjoy exploring rivers, lakes, and deep ocean trenches. It turns every body of water into a new adventure.
Pokemon Pickup and Carrying Mobs
Falling off a cliff is no longer a death sentence. Press Shift + F while unmounted and your Pokemon will fly to your position, predict your free-fall trajectory, and catch you in mid-air before placing you safely on its back. Certain species can also carry more than just you. Press G to grab or release mobs, other players, and creatures, then transport them across the map while flying.
Riding Poses and the In-Game Seat Editor
Not every Pokemon should be ridden the same way. Cobblemon: PokeRider offers a standard seated position, a forward-leaning piggyback pose, and an automatic option that switches between them depending on whether you are on the ground or in the air. Press the semicolon key while riding to open the seat editor, where you can adjust rider position, seat offsets, flight speed, and acceleration in real time with an orbiting preview camera. You can even preview different animation states such as Walk, Sleep, Swim, Fly, and Hover.
How to Install and Which Versions Are Supported
Getting started is simple. Cobblemon: PokeRider currently supports Cobblemon 1.5.2 and is built for the Fabric loader, with Leawind's Third Person compatibility included for players who want a smoother camera. Keep in mind that Kopper Lib is a required dependency, so make sure both files land in your mods folder before launching the game.
- Install Fabric for your Minecraft version.
- Download Cobblemon and place it in the mods folder.
- Add Kopper Lib, then drop Cobblemon: PokeRider into the same folder.
- Launch the game and press the ride button on any configured Pokemon.
If you would rather skip manual file management, the foxygame.net launcher handles the whole process in a single click, pulling Cobblemon: PokeRider and its dependencies straight into a ready-to-play profile with automatic version matching. That convenience matters when a modpack grows to dozens of add-ons, since the launcher keeps everything aligned without you hunting down each library by hand.

Configuration and What Comes Next
Almost everything is adjustable through the config/pokerider.json file. Server owners and modpack creators can tweak seat bones, pivot points, position and rotation offsets, flight speed, acceleration, and special abilities for every individual species. The project is also far from finished. Planned features include ground mounts with their own movement physics, mounted combat with real-time attack systems, additional movement abilities, and support for many more Pokemon species.
Cobblemon: PokeRider is one of those add-ons that changes how you experience an entire modpack. It rewards training your Pokemon, makes exploration genuinely fun, and gives every species a reason to leave the PC box. Whether you are diving through a coral reef or barrel-rolling past a mountain peak, this is the riding system Cobblemon players have been waiting for.
