Butchery X Extra Delight Compat
Minecraft modding thrives on synergy, and few things are more satisfying than watching two excellent food mods work together. Butchery X Extra Delight Compat is a lightweight datapack that does exactly that—it creates a seamless bridge between the Butchery mod and the Extra Delight add-on, allowing you to expand your culinary horizons without complex code changes. If you have ever wished that your carefully butchered meats could slide into Extra Delight’s recipes, this is the solution you have been looking for.
What Is Butchery X Extra Delight Compat?
Butchery X Extra Delight Compat is a datapack designed for modded Minecraft kitchens. It assigns selected Butchery ingredients—such as meats, organs, sausages, and meat cuts—to the common item tags that Extra Delight recipes rely on. This means you can use those Butchery items directly in Extra Delight dishes, from hearty stews to gourmet platters, without needing any additional mod or code-based integration. The datapack is intentionally minimal, making it perfect for modpacks that already include Butchery and want a quick compatibility layer.
It is important to note that the creator of Extra Delight, Lance, also develops Butchercraft, and Extra Delight already includes built-in compatibility with Butchercraft. For players seeking the most complete and purpose-built integration, Butchercraft remains the recommended butchering mod. Butchery X Extra Delight Compat is aimed at those who have already chosen Butchery and want to keep their existing setup while still enjoying Extra Delight’s expanded recipe list.
How the Datapack Works
Under the hood, this datapack uses Minecraft’s item tag system to trick Extra Delight into recognizing Butchery items as valid ingredients. When you install the datapack, it automatically adds tags like forge:raw_meat or forge:sausage to relevant Butchery items. Extra Delight’s recipes check for these tags, so suddenly your Butchery pork cuts, beef organs, and specialty sausages become usable in dishes that previously required other mods’ meats. The result is a smooth, lag-free experience that feels like native compatibility.
Supported Minecraft Versions and Loaders
Butchery X Extra Delight Compat is built to work with modern Minecraft versions, primarily 1.20.1 and 1.19.2, which are the most common environments for food-focused modpacks. Because it is a datapack, it is loader-agnostic—you can drop it into a Forge or Fabric instance without any issues, as long as both Butchery and Extra Delight are present. Always check that your mods are updated to match the datapack’s intended version to avoid tag conflicts.
How to Install Butchery X Extra Delight Compat
Installing the datapack is straightforward. First, make sure you have Butchery and Extra Delight installed and working in your modded Minecraft world. Then, download the Butchery X Extra Delight Compat datapack file. Place the downloaded ZIP file into the datapacks folder inside your world’s save directory. If you are playing on a server, upload it to the server’s world folder instead. Once the world loads, the datapack will automatically apply the tag changes—no configuration needed. For a truly hassle-free setup, the foxygame.net launcher offers Butchery X Extra Delight Compat in its curated add-on catalog, letting you install it with a single click while automatically matching your modloader and version.
Why Choose This Datapack Over Full Mod Integration?
Many players wonder why they should use a datapack instead of waiting for a mod that hard-codes compatibility. The answer lies in simplicity and control. A datapack does not alter mod files, so it is safe to add or remove at any time without breaking your save. It also keeps your mod list lean, which is crucial for large modpacks where every extra mod increases load times and potential conflicts. Butchery X Extra Delight Compat gives you the flexibility to mix and match your favorite butchering mod with Extra Delight’s recipes, all while preserving the original balance of both mods.
What Extra Delight Recipes Become Available?
With the datapack active, you can use Butchery items in a wide range of Extra Delight recipes. Here are some examples of what you can cook up:
- Hearty meat stews using Butchery’s raw beef cuts and pork organs.
- Sausage platters that combine Butchery’s smoked sausages with Extra Delight’s sides.
- Gourmet burgers where Butchery’s ground meat patties replace standard ingredients.
- Bone broth and stock recipes that accept Butchery’s marrow and offal.
This opens up dozens of new food combinations, making your Minecraft kitchen feel more dynamic and rewarding.
