BS-AntiCheat
Keeping your Minecraft server fair and fun demands a modern anti-cheat that understands how players actually move and interact. BS-AntiCheat is built from the ground up for Paper and Folia 1.21.x, delivering precise detection without the false-positive noise that plagues older solutions. It ships calm by default, so you can tune it to your community instead of fighting a storm of incorrect flags on day one.
Why BS-AntiCheat Stands Out
Most anti-cheats rely on coarse ping estimates and client-reported data that cheaters can easily spoof. BS-AntiCheat takes a different path. It uses transaction-based lag compensation with real ping/pong round-trip timing, ensuring high-ping players aren't unfairly punished. The ground state is server-authoritative, not trusting the client's onGround flag, and movement checks run every tick — no sampling gaps. This means you catch subtle hacks like timer manipulation, ground spoof, and scaffold without disrupting legitimate gameplay.
Folia-Ready and Lightweight
BS-AntiCheat runs natively on both Paper and Folia from a single jar, verified against real Folia servers. At around 355 KB, it adds virtually no overhead. It also auto-exempts Geyser/Floodgate players and can optionally exempt ViaVersion clients whose physics differ, so cross-play communities stay protected without false bans.
What BS-AntiCheat Detects
The add-on covers a wide range of cheat categories with configurable thresholds. Here are the key checks:
- Movement: Speed, Fly, Hover, Teleport, GroundSpoof, Elytra/Riptide speed
- Combat: Reach, KillAura (angle + multi), AimSnap, Criticals, AutoBlock
- World: Nuker, FastPlace, Scaffold, FastBreak
- Vehicle: Boat-Fly, per-type vehicle speed
- Packet: AutoClicker, BadPackets, Timer, crash protection, packet flood
- X-Ray: Ore thresholds, ore/stone ratio, rare-ore combos, restricted zones
- Inventory (opt-in): InventoryMove, ChestStealer, FastUse, BowSpam, AutoTotem
Every check uses a violation-level (VL) system with decay, so occasional borderline behavior doesn't trigger false punishments. You can set custom console commands at each VL tier — warn, kick, ban, or anything your server needs — and enable setback for movement violations.
How to Install BS-AntiCheat
Getting started is straightforward. First, make sure your server runs Paper or Folia 1.21.x. Then follow these steps:
- Download BS-AntiCheat and place the jar file into your server's
plugins/folder. - Install PacketEvents — required for packet-level checks (AutoClicker, BadPackets, Timer, crash protection, packet flood) and the lag-transaction system. Movement and other checks work without it, but full protection needs PacketEvents.
- Restart the server. BS-AntiCheat will generate a default configuration.
- Open
plugins/BS-AntiCheat/config.ymland setdebug_mode: trueto observe detection values without issuing punishments. - Play normally on the server, watch the debug output, and adjust thresholds under
anticheat.thresholds.*to match your server's playstyle. - Once satisfied, run
/bsac reloadto apply changes without restarting, then enable punishments.
If you use the foxygame.net launcher, adding BS-AntiCheat is even simpler — just browse the built-in add-on catalog, select BS-AntiCheat, and install it with one click. The launcher handles version compatibility and keeps the plugin updated automatically, so you always run the latest protection without manual downloads.
Calibration and Tuning
BS-AntiCheat ships in report-only mode. This means it logs violations but never punishes until you explicitly enable enforcement. With over 25 thresholds adjustable live via /bsac reload, you can fine-tune sensitivity for your specific server — whether it's a competitive PvP arena or a casual survival world. The debug mode shows real-time VL values, helping you dial in the perfect balance between security and player freedom.
Commands and Permissions
All administration is done through simple commands with aliases:
/bsac— main command hub/movealerts— toggle movement violation alerts/xrayalerts— toggle X-ray alerts/acsilent— silent mode for staff/acwhitelist— manage bypass list/xrayores— view ore mining statistics
PlaceholderAPI support is included with %bsanticheat_total% and %bsanticheat_vl_<check>%, perfect for scoreboards or custom HUDs. Optional LuckPerms integration allows group-based whitelisting.
