AIbuilder: Generate Minecraft Buildings With AI Chat

AIbuilder turns chat prompts into ready-to-place builds in your world for Minecraft. Download AIbuilder and let AI design your next base today.

AIbuilder

Imagine typing a single sentence into chat and watching an entire structure appear in front of you. That is exactly what AIbuilder does. This clever mod connects your Minecraft world to an AI model, converts your description into a real building plan, and drops it into the game as a Litematica projection you can place, rotate, and build block by block.

If you have ever stared at an empty plot and wished someone else would handle the layout, AIbuilder for Minecraft is the answer. It is built for Fabric on Minecraft 1.20.6 and requires Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer, Fabric API, Litematica 0.18.0 or newer, MaLiLib 0.19.0 or newer, Mod Menu 10.0.0 or newer, and Java 21.

What AIbuilder Actually Does

At its core, AIbuilder is a chat-driven building generator. You enter build mode with the /aibuilder command, then describe whatever you want in chat, such as "a cozy wooden cottage with a chimney" or "a medieval watchtower with a stone base." The mod intercepts that message, sends it to your chosen AI model, and waits for a response.

The model replies with a short design explanation plus a structured JSON payload containing the size and a list of blocks with coordinates and block IDs. AIbuilder parses that data, builds a Litematica-compatible NBT structure, saves it to the schematics folder, and loads it through Litematica's API about five blocks in front of you. From there, you can adjust the placement with your usual Litematica hotkeys and start building whenever you are ready.

Key Features at a Glance

  • Chat-driven building: describe any structure in plain language and let the AI handle the design.
  • Litematic integration: AI output becomes a valid .litematic schematic loaded automatically as a placement.
  • Multi-provider support: works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Alibaba Cloud Bailian, DeepSeek, Zhipu AI, Xiaomi MiMo, and any OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible endpoint, including self-hosted setups and relays.
  • In-game configuration UI: add, remove, and switch model configurations through Mod Menu, including fetching the model list directly from a provider.
  • Thinking process display: when the model supports it, you can see its reasoning output in chat before the building is placed.
  • 32 languages: the interface follows your Minecraft language setting, covering English, zh_cn, zh_tw, ja_jp, ko_kr, ru_ru, de_de, fr_fr, es_es, lzh, and many more.

Model configurations live in config/aibuilder_models.json. One important note: API keys are stored in plain text in that file, so never share it or commit it to a repository.

How to Install AIbuilder

Getting started is straightforward. First, install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 1.20.6. Next, download AIbuilder and place the jar alongside Fabric API, Litematica, MaLiLib, and Mod Menu in your .minecraft/mods folder. Launch the game, open Mod Menu, select AIbuilder, and add an AI model by choosing a provider, entering your API key, fetching the model list, picking a model, and saving.

Once configured, run /aibuilder to enter build mode, type your building description in chat, and press Enter. The finished design appears as a Litematica projection in front of you. Run /aibuilder again to exit build mode.

If you prefer a smoother setup, the foxygame.net launcher can handle the whole process for you, installing AIbuilder and its dependencies in one click without any manual folder juggling. Its built-in add-on catalog also keeps track of version compatibility, so you always grab the right build for your setup.

Supported Providers and Configuration

Provider Options

AIbuilder supports OpenAI (Chat Completions), Anthropic (Messages), Alibaba Cloud Bailian via DashScope, DeepSeek, Zhipu AI (GLM), and Xiaomi MiMo, all through OpenAI-compatible protocols. You can also point it at any custom OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible endpoint by supplying your own base URL, which is ideal for self-hosted models or relays.

Building From Source

Developers can clone the repository, run ./gradlew build, and find the output jar in build/libs. To launch a development client with the mod loaded, use ./gradlew runClient. The project is licensed under LGPL-3.0.

Final Thoughts

AIbuilder changes the way you approach construction in Minecraft. Instead of planning every wall and roof by hand, you describe an idea and let the AI produce a working schematic you can refine at your own pace. Whether you are a builder looking for inspiration or a player who just wants a functional base fast, this mod delivers a genuinely different creative experience.
