Aethersteel: The Ultimate Endgame Upgrade for Minecraft
If you have conquered the Nether, defeated the Ender Dragon, and crafted full Netherite gear, you might think your Minecraft journey is complete. Think again. The Aethersteel add-on introduces a brand-new material tier that is twice as strong as Netherite, giving veteran players a fresh challenge and a powerful reward. Whether you are building a massive modpack or simply want more endgame content, this mod delivers a polished, vanilla-friendly experience.
What Is Aethersteel?
Aethersteel is a mod that adds a new ingot called Aethersteel, which is two times stronger than Netherite. This means better durability, higher mining speed, and more attack damage for your tools and weapons. To create an Aethersteel Ingot, you need to find Aethersteel Debris within y-44 to y-64. This rare ore can be found in patches of Aetherslate, a new stone type that generates deep underground. Once you have collected the debris, smelt it and then craft it using 4 Aethersteel Scrap and 4 Netherite Ingots.
But that is not all. The Aethersteel Upgrade Template can be obtained by mining Suspicious Aetherslate. There is a chance that it will drop, so bring your brush and prepare to dig. To upgrade to Aethersteel, place an Aethersteel Upgrade Template, a Netherite tool, and an Aethersteel Ingot on a Smithing Table. Armor trims can also be used on Aethersteel armor, allowing you to customize your look while keeping that competitive edge.
Items, Tools, and Blocks
The mod adds a wide variety of items to enhance your gameplay. Here is a quick breakdown:
- Items: Aethersteel Ingot, Aethersteel Nugget, Aethersteel Scrap, Aethersteel Upgrade Template
- Tools: Aethersteel Armor, Axe, Hoe, Knife (requires Farmer's Delight), Pickaxe, Shears, Shovel, Sword
- Blocks: Aetherslate, Aetherslate Bricks (with slab, stair, and wall variants and cracked versions), Aetherslate Tiles, Aethersteel Block (with slab and stair variant), Aethersteel Bookshelf (requires Iron Bookshelves), Aethersteel Chain, Aethersteel Debris, Aethersteel Door and Trapdoor, Cobbled Aetherslate, Polished Aetherslate, and Suspicious Aetherslate
Suspicious Aetherslate drops several items when mined, making it a worthwhile exploration target. To see all the recipes, use JEI or REI. The mod is compatible with Farmer's Delight and Iron Bookshelves, so you can expand your crafting options even further.
