Valyria Base Claim: Stop Foundation Spam in ARK

Valyria Base Claim

If you have spent any time on public servers in ARK: Survival Ascended, you know the pain. You scout the perfect location for a new base, only to discover a random pillar, a single foundation, or a half-finished metal box blocking the entire area. The map becomes a patchwork of abandoned structures and foundation spam, leaving you with nowhere to build. Valyria Base Claim was designed to change that. This add-on introduces Base Claim totems that let tribes officially claim a specific area for their base, creating a cleaner, more organized server experience for everyone.

What Does Valyria Base Claim Do?

At its core, this mod shifts the focus from blocking land with physical structures to claiming it with a dedicated totem. Instead of scattering dozens of foundations to reserve a spot, you place a single Base Claim totem. This totem defines your tribe's territory, signaling to other players that the area is taken. The result is a server with less visual clutter and more open space for those who are actively building.

Key Features of the Totem System

• Claim Totems: Place a totem to mark your tribe's territory and prevent others from building within its radius.
• View Range: Interact with your own flag to see the exact range of your claim. Aim at the flag and use the appropriate key to display the boundary.
• Show Friendly Flags: Toggle this option to see all Base Claim totems from friendly or allied tribes nearby, helping you coordinate territory.
• Reduced Clutter: Say goodbye to foundation spam. A single totem does the job of dozens of structures.

This system is particularly useful for server admins and community-focused players who want to maintain a tidy map. It encourages tribes to claim only what they need, freeing up the rest of the island for exploration and new players.

Controls and How to Use It

Using the totem is straightforward, but the controls differ depending on your platform. Here is a quick breakdown for Valyria Base Claim for ARK: Survival Ascended:

Mod Compatibility and Server Versions

This add-on is built for the latest versions of ARK: Survival Ascended and is designed to work seamlessly with the Valyria Ascended server mod pack. While it is a standalone mod, it performs best when used on servers that enforce claim rules. The mod is lightweight and does not interfere with other popular QoL mods, making it a safe addition to your load order. Always ensure your game client is updated to the current patch to avoid compatibility issues.

Why You Should Use This Mod

The biggest advantage of Valyria Base Claim is the shift from visual pollution to functional territory management. On official or community servers, land disputes are a constant source of conflict. It also makes it easier for server admins to enforce building rules, as the totem range is clearly visible to everyone.

In conclusion, if you are tired of navigating a maze of abandoned foundations and want a cleaner, more respectful building environment, this mod is a must-have.
